Professional Development: Let's Talk About Bystander Intervention
Wanting to implement a bystander intervention training for your campus community but not sure where to start? This session will discuss the process of creating buy-in, and developing an in-person, scenario based bystander intervention program for the UTK Greek Community that makes up 26% of the student population and spans over 7,000 students. We will discuss building partnership with your sorority or fraternity office on campus if you have one, and provide an overview of rolling out a large scale program over a semester. Join us to review the process of creation, the implementation of the program, and the assessment results that show the impact of the bystander intervention training that covers the topics of alcohol, drugs, mental health, hazing, sexual misconduct, and bias.
We will also hear from community partners who can provide bystander intervention training for your campus and discuss ways to tailor these tools for campuses that do not have a greek community on campus.
