Prevention Spotlight: UT Chattanooga
UT Chattanooga Project Description: During the first week of classes this fall, UT Chattanooga hosted a new event on campus called UTC RYDE. They rented golf carts and rode around campus asking students if they needed a ride to class. Once the students were on the golf cart, UT Staff/Student Volunteers would ask them trivia questions about impaired driving, consent, social norms on campus drinking, and/or mental health. Students were then offered prizes and given information about important resources on campus. They engaged approximately 150-200 students who were predominantly first year. They also used Flyers and Social Media to share information about the event.
